Kinabayo Festival in the Shrine City of the Paradise Philippines

The Battle of Covadonga was the first major victory by a Christian military force in Iberia following the Muslim Moors' conquest of that region in 711. Taking place about a decade later, most likely in the summer of 722, the victory at Covadonga assured the survival of a Christian stronghold in northern Iberia, and today is regarded as the beginning of the Reconquista.

The annual celebration of the mysterious and colorful pageant re-enacting the Spanish-Moorish war is celebrated every July 25 in Dapitan City Zamboanga del Norte Philippines by the Dapitanons which is called the  “Kinabayo Festival”.

Dapitan City, the Shrine City of the Philippines scenic spots are Aliguay and Selinog Islands. Both islands  have white sand beaches and rich aquatic resources. Napo White Beaches, Underwater cave at Canlucani and  Sinonoc Creek and Falls.
